A recently completed rooftop addition and interior renovation to a Philadelphia carriage house provides new domestic space for a young family. The overbuild is set back from the east facade of the building with an outdoor terrace space. With three sun exposure, the addition incorporates glazing as much as possible. The addition provides new living, work and kitchen space for the historic structure. The carriage house is uniquely sited interrupting both Chancellor Street and South Van Pelt Street, framing the view down each corridor. This project was completed at the office of Brawer and Hauptman Architects.
